Notes

Post-brewing notes: OH MY GOD what a pain this was to mash even with a protein rest. Beer has a lot of esters from the wlp066, and a big kick of flavor from the hops. Hop flavor is very fruity, and for sure orangey, but also has some earthy/noble/spice cabinet(basil?) flavors that stand out as well. Mouth feel is perfect. I think I'd have liked this beer a lot more with either less or no lactose though.

totally forgot to add orange zest -.-

Next brew notes:
Replace pale ale with Maris Otter or add some thing to bump up the malt flavor to balance better with the hops, yeast, and sweetness.
Add less Lactose? I really don't much care for the flavor it adds... maybe I might just pass on this style in the future.

Pre-brewing notes: Milkshake IPA w/ orange zest. Julius is a hop from Mighty Axe which is supposed to be an orange leaning Cascade derived hop. Conan yeast strain for mouthfeel, and residual sweetness. ~50% adjunct for high FG and mouthfeel, should also make it very hazy.
