First time of milling grain at home, seemed successful!
Started with 30 Liters
Mash temp started @ 67 degrees and finished at 67 degree. Had the thermostat set at 65 , also very hot day today so temperature very stable. |

Best brew house efficiency to date.
1. The only real difference is home milling or
2. Perhaps going for lower wort volume in the fermenter @ 22 liters.
thoughts are more likely 2nd reason due to being more concentrated ? |

Couldn't get the cooling temperature low enough to pitch the yeast. Set the fridge to 12 degrees and will pitch tomorrow. |

Wasn't sure if anything was happening because airlock bubbler wasn't active but the SG says otherwise. Must have escaped through the temp cable.
Taste test > tasting great!
Set temp up to 16 degrees for rest period

Lager through the tap is great, foaming a but need to make the supply pipe longer
Tried a bottle, beer is flat ? not sure if the yeast was too cold ? I've taken the bottles into ambient temp (20 deg), flipped them over for 3 days and leaving it for a further few weeks - need to test if this has worked.
Turns out it did work, lesson learned is to ferment the larger back at higher temp then put it into the fridge. |
