Fermented out in the shed for a few weeks; temps were mid-30's through high 50's. Brought inside for a diacetyl rest for 3 days.

Broke one bottle during capping; would have had 8, ended up with 7.

Taste tested it -- good malty flavor! But had the same citrus fruit note I've been sensing in a lot of my brews. Hmmm. Gameplan is to bottle condition it at room temp for a while and then stick it out in the cold and/or fridge to lager in bottles.

Cracked open the first bottle. The bad news: SOUR! Must have been contaminated? Hope the other bottles aren't. Not clear -- probably needs more time in cold. No head. The good: once past the sour, had a good malty finish. Nice straw color. Definitely some fizz to it. Next batch I'll probably keep the same recipe except add something for head retention and improve sanitation.

Had a taste of another bottle. Still sour, and not very clear. I'm almost positive this is contaminated. Yuck. But, beneath the yuck, there are some good malty flavors. Maybe I should try this recipe again (or make a pale ale version of the same bill)

Tried a sip of every last bottle, and they were all nasty. So I dumped them. Bummer!
