RIMS with older MASHMATE 1600 Controller. In the process of updating to PID controllers for 2 mash tun's at a time. 3 ten gal. Polarware SS kettles (modified). Have 2 modified 16gal kegs for alternate boil kettle/HLT for 5-10-15-20gal batches (why brew 5 when ya can brew more in same amount of time?) Also Lagering/beer frig with Johnson controller and a keezer that holds 8 kegs with 4 beer taps and 1 Root Beer tap.. This is all contained in a 16x28 addition to the house complete with utility sink, grain room-storage area,Hop covered patio, tasting or just plain drinking space with table and chairs and a beautiful view of trees birds, flowers and mountains. Began brewing in December 2010, started building this system by October 2011 hence the name HEAD FIRST BREWING. So many beers so little time. We'll do our best to try them all!
I prefer IPA's but brew several European styles and lots of Northwest styles. Working with cellar barleywine and barrel aging. Long slow process. Very rewarding at times.
