Typical exposure to home brew in the 70's as a child, then a boy and then a drinker.
Never really liked beer as a young man.
Made lots of bad home brew in the latter 2000's. Initially my Mrs started brewing to save money and all I had to do was clean the bottles...and I couldn't even do that so she stopped.
I wanted to brew all-grain but couldn't get my head around it so stopped brewing and bought a carton of Little Creatures Pale Ale every week for 18mths or so.
One day whilst reading John Palmer's "How to brew" I asked my Mrs (same one) if she could build me a mash-tun because I couldn't understand how to do it. She read the part in the book about it and made me a mash-tun for Fathers Day.
Shit beer ensued. Good woman though ay?
Big mistake for a long time was over-using hops.
Loved the breweries in the Swan Valley at the time we were in Guildford I must say. Very inspirational - Feral was my favorite this was around the time (of living in Guildford, Western Australia)
Brewing on 4v HERMS now, got a third in the specialty category at beerfest 2016, First comp for me in Melbourne VIC, Australia.
Loving making beer, enjoying the journey good and bad
don't trust my public beers, they're tests and brews that were rarely brewed as stated. happy to answer questions though
