About 18 months into my return to brewing (June 2014). Brewed as a young bloke whilst at University to keep costs down and now back into it as I love cooking and eating and drinking - decided I might as well brew what i like to drink.
Am amazed at the increase in quality and availability of ingredients since the early 90's BUT best of all is the amazing increase in information available from forums like this one. I raided this site for info for around 12 months before i joined up to use the recipe calculator.
Well probably only brewed around 20 beers since I returned to brewing and have only brewed one recipe twice. I lived in England and Europe for five years in the early 00's so got quite the taste for real ales and various European brews. I love a good Belgian beer with tight champagne like bead and high ABV (think Duvel and Chimay).
I like to brew crisp, dry and refreshing beers for summer along with bold hoppy beers and nice browns and darks for our short winters.
Saison has taken my fancy of late and have been giving them a go.
