I have enjoyed tasting and learning about ingredients for many years, and have had a few homebrew friends, but 2019 was the beginning of my journey as a brewer. If you check out my recipes, you will notice that I like simple, session beers. I may stretch the definition of "session" beer to 6 - 6.5% ABV, but I prefer beers that are drank instead of sipped. ;)
Missouri (like most places) has a recent blessing of craft brewers who have setup shop and offered their wares. Much of my inspiration comes from sampling beers from the middle of the country stretching from Minnesota down to Texas. Most are good, some are very good and a few distinguish themselves for quality and creativity.
So far, I've strictly been an extract (w/steeping) brewer, but I've been quite satisfied with the results and have many more ideas that I'd like to attempt.
I have a growing list of beers that represent the range of what I enjoy.
Hope you will take a look and offer feedback or questions.
John
