I started brewing extract kits with no temp control or any knowledge past the instruction sheets in 2005. Fast forward to 2010, I got out of the US Marine Corps, and did another extract batch of porter, in my mothers kitchen. Came home to an explosion of sticky black wort all over the ceiling, walls, and floor.
Now in 2018 I brew on a 3 20 gallon kettle EHERMS system, with Spike CF15 conical fermenters with temp control and a glycol chiller. I harvest and propagate yeast now days as well.
