This is a new one that my fermzilla should prevent but here we are. My spunding valve shows no pressure buildup after 3 days. I have take. It off a reassembled. I even popped it on a keg with pressure and the dial moved. The gas post whistled when I added some gas, I was just trying to see what’s going on. I changed that post with a new one, this was mid fermentation. I do not think it’s the lid. For this with a fermzilla it’s a bitch to get off and I was worried I damaged it but the fermenter is holding some pressure so I’m back to questioning the gas post that whistles when I try to add co2. How much if any suck back will I get when I crash this the next few days? Do I need to try to get this into a keg and hope for no diacetyl? This was a labor intensive batch of beer I’d prefer not to ruin.
Thanks

Okay
Had some beers so spoonful of salt required..
Do you have another keg that youu could put the spunding valve on to rule it out?
By your description in does not look like the spunding valve by itself is the issue
Besides that I am basically clueless.
Except...
Beer often gets brewed without spunding valves.
And I forgot the rest of my argument. But you will be fine Relax etc

The whistle of the gas post makes me think that’s the issue. This was when I added gas to it.

If the gas post is whistling, then i would think it is leaking. Your lack of pressure biuld up would be from that.

You might not get any suck back through the air lock, since it will come through the Leakey post. Not exactly better though

So I may (most likely) be a dumbass. I realized it was leaking where the post screws on the tightened and no more whistle. We’ll see hopefully I didn’t ruin it already. Fermentation is pretty much over. Big ass slurry and upper 50s made for quick work.

May?

Ruin it? No. It’s fermenting, and co2 is coming out of the beer. All Is Well

Bet is fine. I did a whole batch with a valve open to space once. Nothing bad
