What video games are you playing lately?

I've been diving into a lot of RPGs myself. The Witcher series is a big favorite, and I even tried my hand at recreating some of the brews from the game. It's fun to merge hobbies like that, isn't it? They're a great way to unwind after a long brew day.
Great game!

I'm a fan of the Assassin's Creed games. Lotsa really cool history in those, and some REALLY funny stuff. Some of it appears to be bugs left in because they were so funny.

Me and the missus are currently playing AC Valhalla. I've already played all the titles from 2013 forward. My pet peeve about the AC franchise, though is that UbiSoft dropped multiplayer support after the Unity title. No clue why, but I'm sure there's several explanations for it. I had a blast in Unity and Black Flag playing multiplayer, and while multiplayer mode still works in those, they're dated games and few are interested. There were many side games and puzzles that can not be completed without Multiplayer in those.

Just to pick on everyone and make fun of myself for being old, I was going to post two words: Pac-Man LOL, but it screws up my wrist so bad that I can't write anymore after playing that or pinball for any period of time, so I am screwed.

I'm also a big fan of Assassin Creed games, tho I haven't played any after Valhalla. I think there's another one coming out next year

Definitely dig assassins creed but the overall lore has kinda lost me. Played Tunic for a bit, awesome throwback to old school zelda. Just downloaded ghosts of tsutshima and liking it so far

Frostpunk 2 is the one I've played most recently.

Loved Red dead redemption 2 so decided to try the first one. Its pretty good and you can see they used the game as a blueprint for the second game.

Trying out Age of Empires 4 and the walking dead game as well. AOE4 is so far fun (i love the turn based strategy games) and so is the walking dead game. The walking dead game is interesting with your dialogue/actions impacting the way the story unfolds.

A couple notes about AC Origins:

Again, lots of repetitive things to do, and it's somewhat more difficult to advance. Neither me nor the missus have the hand/eye coordination to play it on anything but the easy level. We both play for the intellectual side of the game anyway, not for the finger speed. Arthritic fingers don't move fast. A lot of the target activities are very difficult to see. NONE of the treasures show up on the map, unless perhaps they're the same color as the sand. Some of the control buttons are different, but can't remember if they're the same as Unity or if there was a difference in all of the other AC titles. On both Origins and Valhalla, the map zoom is limited making it hard to select destinations more accurately. This can often start fights that I prefer to avoid, especially the big melees. EVERY quest/mission I've attempted in Origins has had enemies at a minimum two levels above my current level. This is fair how? But, IIRC, less XP was gained from battling enemies with same or lower rank in Unity, Black Flag, and Syndicate. I've slept twice since I played those titles, though.

just started The long dark on Xbox, its an old game (2017) that is still being updated and DLC added. So far i like it, the game has two modes "Survival" which pits you against the elements to see how long you can survive and story mode which follows a linear story with the same survival elements. Tried the survival mode and died within the second day so i started the story mode on the easiest level. The game can be tedious as there is no fast travel and you have to keep an eye on fatigue, hydration levels, hunger and body core temp while keeping your gear weight under a limit to prevent injuries while walking. Graphics are 2017 but are pretty nonetheless.

I have that one but never got around to playing it. Glad to hear you like it!
