I wouldn't even add the whirlfloc. There should be about an ounce of hops only, There won't be crap floating in your beer.
Indeed, if you keg, give the keg a good shake every week to keep the yeast in suspension.
It IS all about the yeast!
Honestly, I have never used whirlfloc in any of my dozen plus Hefe brews. So I can't say if it affects the suspension.Have you found whirlfloc to affect yeast suspension? Or are you just suggesting "the cloudier the better"?
I'm not a hefe brewer, so I'm honestly curious.
