I am going to make a coopers Canadian Blonde , and want to add some citra for flavor (i do not want any more bitterness )
Will make it with a Coopers Enhancer 2
i was thinking of putting then in a coffee plunger for about 30 min or boil them for say 5 min then add them to fermenter , and i may dry hop as well.
What would be the best way

Whirlpooling works the best for flavor with little addition bittering. Run it through the Brewer's Friend calculator. You can expect @ 4% utilization when you whirlpool at 170F (77C) for 20 minutes. Add the hops into the calculator and adjust the utilization to 4%. You may need to back off on some of the bittering hop to keep the bitterness in check. You can reduce the amount of 60 minute hop addition or move some bittering hops to 30 minutes. There is more than one way to skin this cat.

2-4 ounces in the whirlpool will add a nice flavor and aroma to the beer without overwhelming the beer.

@HighVoltageMan! Has some great advice for brewing which involves boiling but follow the Coopers instructions and dry hop with the Citra, don’t boil the hops that would add a lot of IBUs.

Yes it would. I guess you can steep some at about 160F. I have never done that so I can’t say it would work for flavor.

@jschein

Would dry hopping not just add aroma? and i love the aroma of Citra

Dry hopping has a bigger impact on aroma then it does on flavor. Whirlpooling has a bigger impact on flavor than on aroma. Keep that in mind when you brew. I have often speculated that a whirlpool only approach to a beer would lend to a little more subtle expression of the hops.

The combination of bittering, whirlpool and dry hopping can really bring to bear the full expression of the hops, but sometimes it can be overkill.
