FWIW, San Francisco's tap water tastes really good, and it's what I use to make all my beer.
Anyone else located in SF county and use the tap water for brewing?
I started thinking about the quality of the water I use for brewing a few months ago, but I couldn't find any recent water reports for SF county. The most recent published report I found was from 2014. So, I took a few samples from my kitchen faucet and had them sent off to a lab for analysis. I posted the results in a water report here: http://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/water-profiles/ (title: "San Francisco Tap Water 2016").
Just wondering, has anyone else gotten a test like this? How do the results compare? Someone at SF Brewcraft mentioned to me that the city may also be switching over its water supply every now and then to deal with the serious drought we're in. Anyone noticed this? What water adjustments, if any, do you typically use when brewing?
