Hello fellow brewers. First post and new account, but frequent flyer on Brewer's Friend. Yesterday I randomly picked up a sixer of New Belgium's Summer Bliss off the shelf and I must say its one of their best brews (for my taste buds). I must've said ten times over "If I had a keg of this, I'd be buzzin all week."

New Belgium's website gives a brief overview of what they use. ABV 5.5%; IBU 9

Yeast: London III -- (Wyeast London Ale III 1318?)
Hops: Nugget
Fermentables: Wheat, Pale, Oats

Has anyone tried brewing up a clone of this brew? If so, how did it turn out? Care to upload your clone recipe?

a recipe would be awesome! Maybe play around on beersmith?

Welcome to BF, can't offer any help on this, but it sounds like a British ale of some sort @Josh Hughes is our resident UK ale junkie here, maybe he can help with it...

It’s a Tropical Wheat beer described as “a lemon and mango summer tango”.

I don’t see how just Nugget hops and some English yeast esters gets you all the way to that description. I don’t think New Belgium is being completely forthcoming with their list of ingredients. But I’ve never had the beer, so I can’t honestly say.

So I've only had the OG once at their brewery (it was fantastic!) This is what I put down, but haven't tried it yet. I tried to match the kcal of 160 (this comes out to 162 kcal). I couldn't remember the hoppiness, bitterness or depth of maltiness, so I would adjust by replacing the Munich and only do 1.75 oz hops at whirlpool. I think, though, you would get some beautifulness while dry hopping during active fermentation. I'm thinking the additional puree could kick off another fermentation to get ABV to published percent, or could otherwise be helped to get there. I'm not sure about spice and flavor amounts, but this is where I would start.

5 Gallon batch, 60 min boil

The Fat Tire and 1554 recipes are both available. I also had them at the brewery. NB knows what they are doing. I highly recommend a visit and a tour.
