When making a starter from trub recovered from a brew and then discovering that it was unviable - despite careful temperature adjustment and sitting it on a stir plate to agitate the yeast:

Remember to recover the stirrer magnet before pouring the whole lot down the toilet and pulling the flush... Arghhhh!!!!

Lol yup. My stir bar was in the fermentor for month once.

Now I use a magnet to stick it to the side of the flask

Lol nope. It went through the dump valve just fine. I just had to remember it was there

I just ordered more stir bars. They don’t seem to hurt the septic system either. Maybe when they pump the tank the next time, I’ll crawl in and recover a couple is stir bars from the bottom. Or not.
