How's everybody doig? Been off the radar for a while. Decided back in July that I was going to try to lose a little weight. Unfortunately cutting out calories after 4pm has REALLY stretched out my homebrew supply.

On the plus side, I'm down 50 pounds and the rather copious supply of beer in the house has gradually worked it's way down to the point that I can resume brewing more beer soon. Thinking I'm going to do a batch of my "Shore Leave" Cali Common after deer hunting season.

Happy to be back!

Good for you, Tim! I hope you can maintain your improved health.
I just got back to brewing for the first time in months. Unfortunately, this week my doctor advised that I need to make some lifestyle changes to achieve some health goals as I get closer to age 60 in 2026. It is time to lose weight and get my cholesterol under control. So I need to eat a little better and less, drink significantly less, exercise more regularly, and take statins. I am glad that I did not buy more kegging equipment than I already have (one 5 gallon Corney), though I still think a single 2.5 gallon serving keg would suit my purposes well enough.

Takes alot of dedication to lose weight. Changing eating habits is difficult, moreso when they're is stuff in the house you like and shouldn't eat

My doctor has been telling me that too. Stupid doctors!

Tim congrats on doing what I have been unable to do so far!

Tim, that is a big deal, and you need to be congratulated. I was able do drop little by little with a bit of portion control, moving around, and staying away from the 7% plus IPAs. I dropped a bunch this year, but it was all stress, and I do not recommend that method.
Herm, the cholesterol should come down with the weight. The weight loss made a BIG difference with my blood work this year.

Welp, my doctor told me to avoid mixed drinks, beer was better, and put me on zepbound. I'm brewing more then ever, eating less, and I'm down 30lbs.
