I contemplating using gelatin in my fake ESB but I want to harvest the yeast after kegging it. Does it harm the yeast in any way? I'm more concerned about reusing the yeast vs clarity at this point. Anyone doing this?

Gelatin is harmless to yeast. I harvest yeast from time to time, almost always after using gelatin with no problems. You have mostly trub mixed with a little yeast, the gelatin is just another protein in the mix.

It'll make the yeast cake clumpy at the bottom but won't hurt it.

Hmmm, does it make hops/yeast flavored Jell-o??

Crazy Ozzies would bake it and spread it on toast

As you well know, it's a love-hate thing. I don't mind it, it's not at all bad... but I don't eat bread any more, and just a spoonful in the mouth is... err... not as good.

Vegemite is not as easy to find here as Marmite though.
