Hi guys and girls,
Got a question. I think my fermenting bucket is leaking around the lid. After a couple days, I wasn't getting any bubbling at the air lock. Opened up the bucket and there is alayer of foam Brown and smells fantastic. I think it's just leaking and that's why no activity at the air lock. So, I was thinking of racking it to a glass carboy I have but was worried it might mess something up. Will sanitize everything and realize that there is a chance of contamination. What are some opinions. It's been in bucket 4 days.

plastic buckets leak all the time, if you have packing tape, tape around the lid covering the break out slots and then for more tape the joint, works good in a pinch

I wouldn't worry about it. During fermentation you have positive pressure inside the fermentor. If you wanted to move it, wait until the krausen starts to drop, give it a good swirl in the bucket and then transfer to a carboy. The swirl will drive off some of the co2 in solution and get the yeast back into suspension. Other than that, I would likely just leave it alone.
Of course, sanitation is critical and make sure you don't splash the beer during the transfer.
Good luck,
Brian
