Hello, I am a chemical engineer from Colombia, all that I know about beer are my own education at home, reading books, making beer.
Basically, learning the theory at home and test in my 60L brew house. Lately I have been thinking on open a brew house of 5 bbl. but I am afraid because maybe I don´t have enough knowledge about grand breweries. I know about contamination relate with beer, good manufacturing practices in general I have done some courses but maybe I need an advance course related with business and grand brewhouses. what do you think, or can you recommend a good course in another country where business beer is advanced?
thanks in advance

You can look for colleges that offer a degree in brewing. We have one here in st louis mo. It's not cheap though

I have also heard of brewing schools in Germany, but it is a few months and something like 25,000 Euro.

Any other brewers within travel distance? They might be helpful to you.

I recommend attending a brewer conference at BrauBeviale to learn more from experienced brewers, and then draw your own lessons and recipes for brewing and brewing.

When i was at Siebel, I had classmates from all over South/Central America and even as far as India. The course i did was an intensive course, about 3 months in chicago and 1 month in Munich. I dont know what the cost is these days since i went back in 09.

What i can say is that you will get the most education by doing the actual work. Education is a great foundation, but nothing replaces actual experience.
