Pre boil efficiency when I have adjunct added to the fermenter is off.
For example I am adding 3 lbs of Oregon cherry purée to the fermenter, but my pre boil efficiency is showing 50% in the brew log. And when I remove it and use the other calculator it is over 80%. Is there w
A way I should do it differently? In the recipe I indicated the cherry was late addition to the fermenter.

Your efficiency shouldn't suffer although the OG will be lower without the cherries of course. Can you give me a link to the recipe/brew session so I can check it out?

I made the recipe Public - Sourvisiae Cherry

https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/1529980/sourvasie-cherry

I marked as a late addition to the fermenter - but noticed I had a radial clicked that said Mashed? Maybe that was what got it. When I use the efficiency calculator at https://www.brewersfriend.com/brewhouse-efficiency/ and just put in the grains that I mashed See below -
Love Brewer Friend BTW - Just an oddity I noticed that maybe I could enter it differently.

Also - on this recipe I used Sourvisiae for the first time - Since the lactic acid produced does not reduce the gravity, I knew the attenuation would be off. Its noted in the literature for this yeast. But would the ABV still be correct not accounting for the cherry addition? I'm thinking yes as the reduction in gravity from 1.059 to 1.029 is alcohol?

thank you for any input.
