Notes
Northern Brewer's Maypole Maibock - but I had to adjust it a bit
I couldn't get Weyermann Barke PIlsner, so I subbed the slightly darker BestMalz Pilsen. I also have Artisan Perle - it was about 50% more AA (9.7), so I reduced it to get 22 IBUs. I did get Weyermann Barke Munich.
Input this to see about water use - I have a kit and wanted to do it BIAB full volume and I needed to know if my instincts on water adsorption and all that is on target.
I got 1.071 FG.
I used 7 gallons of water, and I cold sparged the grain to top up to 7 gallons of wort. I needed 7 gallons to support the 90 minute boil. I was left with 5.5 gallons in the fermenter. I had to let it chill overnight and the next day I oxygenated for 1 minute.
I have now worked out advanced water treatment to get closer to German Munich water.
Everyone that has this beer likes it. I like having a 6-7% beer on hand.
