Followed recipe with the following adjustments:
- added an additional 5g of Centennial hops 20min into the boil (following the original recipe)
- used 686g of Amber Liquid Malt Extract
- lost ~0.5L of finished boil in a spill, topped up with water (causing a reduced OG)
- retained the yeast from last brew in 200mL of liquid, added 2 teaspoons of Amber Liquid Malt Extract at 10am, the 6g of Safale dried yeast at 3pm to activate before pitch
- pitched yeast at 25.5 degrees (still cooling to ~22*)
Improvements for next time:
- reduce boil volume by 1L
- add 1L of boiled then cooled water following the boil to help the cooling process |
