WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.

The beer was tranferred to a second fermenter where the 84gr of dextroze (boiled for 15min in 1.5 cups of water) was added, before bottling. Lots of residue in the first fermenter (and I mean looots of it).

The colour is a beautifull sunset-gold like awsome thing and the beer is quite clear although no additives were used. The specialty grains leave a hint of sweet maltiness but you can still feel the bitterness of the hops. Aroma is nice but mandarin is not as bold as I assumed (presumably the mandarin hop pellets felt a bit dry and old). The beer is bottled and priming sugar is added. Until now the aftertaste is very fruit which was the goal (!) and seems to be an easily drinkable and refreshing IPA. Carbonation is expected to raise perceived bitterness and aroma. The sample was uncarbonated, and cooled to 5 C before drinking. |
