- Mash vol.: 31.5 L, Pre-boil vol.: 26 L, Batch vol.: 22.5 L
Substitutes: - All Gladfield malts, (x2, dry pitched) M44 US West Coast yeast in for Nottingham.
- Mash down to 31.5 L from 32 L, boil time cut to 45 min from 60 min.
OG: 1071 (Refract.) 1070 (Tilt)
3/8/20 - SG: 1018, dry hopped 50 g Simcoe instead of 30 g (had it left) and 20 g of Columbus CRYO. Went a little harder on the dry hop just because.
5/8/20 - FG: 1017, cold crashed.
Batch #1 - 23/02/20 (Eff.: 56%, Att.: 74%, ABV: 6.6%)
- Mash vol.: 32 L, Pre-boil vol.: 28 L, Batch vol.: 23.5 L
Substitutes: - All Gladfield malts
OG: 1069 (hyd.) 1066 (Tilt)
- Simcoe hops in for Nugget pellets so weights were halved, old bag of Magnum that was left over.
- Nottingham yeast used (x2), re-hydrated but not aerated as per instructions.
- Brewtan B not added at start, forgot.
26/2/20 - SG: 1020
1/3/20 - SG: 1018
3/3/20 - SG: 1017 (Tilt), dry hopped Simcoe Cryo 20g, 30g Columbus
12/3/20 - Kegged and carbed at 30psi for 2:50 min.
25/3/20 - Tastes hoppy with a bitter pine finish, hint of toffee and biscuit on the front, easy drinker worth trying again. 4 out of 5 I reckon.
Durty Vital Stats: 8.4% ABV, 97 IBU (from brewers website)
Malts: North American 2-Row, Munich 10L, Chocolate, C-60, Brown Malt
Hops: Bittering: Magnum, Flavor: Nugget, Dry Hop: CTZ and Chinook
Yeast: White Labs WLP-001 American Ale
