Used Briess Bavarian Wheat (65% wheat, 35% Barley)
Need 126bn, est. 89% viable (89bn) for 16 days old (02-jan-2020). W/o shaking and 1L starter, looking at 142bn (187bn w/ shaking). Plenty of cells.
Swirled occasionally for 24 hours, sat room temp 12 hours. Mostly flocc'd, but moved to fridge morning of 20-jan-2020. |

Tasted from final gravity sample. Yeast character is prevalent, along with orange peel. Slight bitterness but pleasant level. Not getting much of the spice character yet. |

Tastes great after chilling and carbonating. Creamy mouthfeel with great carbonation level. Color is light and medium haze. The orange peel and yeast character are apparent, with some fruity esters. Slight spice on the sides and back of the tongue, reminds me of black pepper with a little clove/cardamom taste. Next time may increase or better crush the grains of paradise. Folks at the party loved it. |
