Notes

Brewed on November 3, 2019

This recipe is meant to be the base mash for a partigyle batch of Entirely Entire for the high gravity portion and a Dark Mild for the small beer. The first 6 gallons should come in at 1.072 and the second 6 gallons should come in at 1.036. See http://www.morebeer.com/brewingtechniques/library/backissues/issue2.2/moshertable.html

0900 - 16.5 qts of 170° water added to grist to bring temp to 153°F

1000 - Started collecting wort, initial 6 gallons landed at 1.092 so it was 20 points higher than the Mosher table expected. I pulled two gallons out and added back 3 gallons of water. This brought the 7 gallon preboil volume of the high gravity beer to 1.053.

1200 - Sparge complete...collected 10 gallons total. When the two gallons of the first run were added to the second run, the batch gravity landed at 1.053 as well.
