Part copied from the BIAB version of this recipe.
I threw this recipe together in about 5 minutes just to test a 10 gallon boil kettle I bought off of Craigslist. I happened to be in my LHBS ordering 10 lbs of pilsen when I turned around and they had a whole stack of Avangard Pilsen in 10 lb bags already milled for $0.75/lb !!! 75 cents a pound???!!! Yeah, I'll take that thanks. heheh I should have bought it all.
MUCH less trub using a mash tun. (duh now, but I didn't know it back then)
Anyway... this is a nice light "biscuitty" beer. Tastes similar to a Stella. I did brew this again as I got back to my LHBS and picked up the last bag they had of Avangard Pilsen. Same as BIAB, but you get more beer because there's less trub/sludge/dregs left in your fermentor. You may get a little more flavor if you add a 1/2 lb of Vienna or something, but as is it's a pretty nice light beer. Very easy drinker. Cheers!
