pickup up 5 gallons from mockery brewery for the competition
kept the fermentor in the guest bedroom with a space heater to keep the temp around 82 deg F (this yeast is supposed to behave differently in that range) |

racked off yeast and hops, onto the zest and flesh of 2 lb blood oranges (boiled for a few min to sanitize)
sample, tasted rather boring, but maybe starting to sour? very light body, slightly cloudy.
we also tried some samples with some blood orange and rosemary addition. |

Color and aroma came through with the blood orange, but not much of the citrus flavor. Pretty bland. Boiled 3 tbsp of fresh rosemary in 2 c water for 5-10 minutes. Ended up with about 1.3 c rosemary "tea" that we added into the keg with the racked beer. Did a trial run, and both flavors (rosemary & orange) are very subtle. |
