I threw this recipe together in about 5 minutes just to test a 10 gallon boil kettle I bought off of Craigslist. I happened to be in my LHBS ordering 10 lbs of pilsen when I turned around and they had a whole stack of Avangard Pilsen in 10 lb bags already milled for $0.75/lb !!! 75 cents a pound???!!! Yeah, I'll take that thanks. heheh I should have bought it all.
Since that is a German malt, I figured add some German hops. Grabbed those and brewed it. Boom. I was NOT prepared for the absolute crap-ton of dregs in the bottom of my fermentor though. (about two inches deep!) I found out after the fact that BIAB does cause a lot of trub. So right after that I built a mash tun. LOL
Anyway... this is a nice light "biscuitty" beer. Tastes similar to a Stella. I did brew this again as I got back to my LHBS and picked up the last bag they had of Avangard Pilsen. Almost completely identical to the BIAB, except you get more beer because there's less trub/sludge/dregs left in your fermentor. You may get a little more flavor if you add a 1/2 lb of Vienna or something, but as is it's a pretty nice light beer. Very easy drinker. Cheers!
