mash was a total shit show!
1) used 160F water to heat Mash Tun
2) Pulled the water back into kettle,
3) When the kettle water was 160F, we mashed in, the water dropped to 146F!
4) Started ciruclulation, temp dropped to 142F
5) In a attempt to save the day, added 200F water, that did not raise it
6) drained the water from the mash tun, brought the temp up to 170F, but back in Mash Tun, temp was 162, started circulation and started to lower the temp quick. So stopped that
7) stopped circulation when temp hit 153.
8) Iodine test and reflactor show positiive with sugar.
Was going to bail on whole day, will push foward

dropped about a quart of trud. a lot of debris still in the beer. the ferm conical was still registering pressure. |
