Plan starter:
2 lbs brewer malt for 1.25 gallons; OG 1.046
3 liter starter
Mash volume 1 gallon for 2 q per gallon
BIAB method used, mash temp 154 start to 148

two of 5 batches read this. Assumed all did as they all look the same.
Beer is still releasing co2 at a moderate - slow rate
Rather strong bubblegum flavor. Hopefully it will go away. Otherwise, the beer is very smooth with a light mouthfeel.
Two possible solutions if bubblegum persists:
1. Add coco nibbs
2. Blend with a pale.
3. 1 and 2

Dumped 13 gallons. Tasted like rancid bubblegum and smelled like medicine. Will let 5 gallons age for 5-6 months to see how the taste changes. |
