Notes

Partial Mash Option:

  1. Steep the crushed grains in 1.2 gallons of water at 152*F for 45 minutes. (Will use 5 Gals.)
  2. Pull the grain bag out and drain over the pot in a colander.
  3. Rinse the grains with 1.5 qts. of water at 170*F.
  4. Add water to make 3 gallons in the kettle. (Top up to 6 Gal.)
  5. Stir in the dry malt extract, and bring to a boil.
  6. Boil for 60 minutes adding the hops according to the schedule.
  7. Cool wort to 170*F before starting whirlpool hop addition.
  8. Whirlpool for 30 minutes before chilling down to fermentation temp.
  9. Transfer the cooled wort to the fermenter and top up with cool water to make 5 gallons. Bring to 68*F. [OG - 1.065]
  10. Aerate the wort and pitch the yeast.
  11. Ferment at 70*F.
  12. Dry Hop for 3 days in a secondary.
  13. Bottle or keg as usual.
