Did not use hop bags.
Lost 2 litres from higher hop residue + insufficient mash (thicket than usual) volume.
Spot on for OG.
Gravity measured at end of boil.

Since we are creating gyle, since none was saved at end of brewing, we have a final gravity. Therefore, the new gyle quantity at 1.065 is 1.7 litres.
We created the gyle from a combination of an unused wort pack from a smack-pack yeast, a mash of 0.6kg of 2 row barley, and last runnings from Grubby Boy IPA. Boiled off the mix to arrive at 1.065. |

Prior to packaging.
Perfect grapefruit, citrus aroma for the 60 MIn version.
Malt backbone with hop finish. I think we have a winner here! |

NDG Porchfest taste test. 10/10. A total winner. Everyone loved it. 30 litres were drained in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Next year, 50 litres.
Really nailed the 60 Minute IPA in every respect. Grapefruit aroma, not overpowering. Well-balanced bitterness with 6% ABV and finishing gravity sweetness. This is a winning recipe that is worth repeating. |
