Target Water Profile
Sean Foley's water system 2013

The water is from my 6-stage carbon RO UV system which has a calcite media cartridge to bring water back to normal pH and restore a very small amount of hardness with calcium. So we are talking pretty close to distilled with a bit of calcium.
Quick Water Requirements
Water Gallons  Quarts
Heat water added to kettle (equipment estimates 6.67 g | 26.7 qt) 6.48 25.9
Mash volume with grains (equipment estimates 6.67 g | 26.7 qt) 6.64 26.6
Grain absorption losses (steeping) -0.25 -1
Volume increase from sugar/extract (early additions) 0.77 3.1
Pre boil volume (equipment estimates 7.19 g | 28.8 qt) 7 28
Boil off losses -1.5 -6
Hops absorption losses (first wort, boil, aroma) -0.19 -0.8
Post boil volume 5.5 22
Going into fermentor 5.5 22
WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.
Total: 6.48 25.9
Equipment Profile Used: System Default

Notes

Since the Cascade is fresh and wet, and contains a few bugs, I don't feel comfortable with a flame-out addition. I want to get the fresh aromas and ensure pasteurization so I am going with a 5 min addition.

Noting that Brewer's Friend calculator does not seem to know about water content and AA conversion for fresh hops so I am entering 1oz where I actually plan on using 5oz hops right off the bine.

Brewing this for the first time this weekend, will update with final values.
