Supposed to mash at 67C but did this in the slow cooker. Measured temp a few cm from the edge of cooker and temp was lower. Slow cooker took longer to turn temp stabilise and went up to 73C. Added about 200ml cold water and stirred occasionally to reduce temp but damage was probably already done. |

Mashed in when temp fo water was 70C. With grain it dropped to 63.5C and took a long time to rise. Expected then a higher gravity beer with a thinner body. |
