No issues with rye malt and lautering. Did a 20 minute vorlauf recirculation with pump. Didn't take a mash gravity reading. Used all 36 qts that was measured out |

Sparge went well. 170F water at hose end. Was up over 180 in HLT. Pumping from HLT to mash tun pretty straight forward. |

Boil went well with backyard hops. Magnum smelt fantastic, very fresh. 15 min addition of cascade was good but spyder was a bit maxed. At flame out added 4 oz of honey and removed hops and then added whilrpool additions. |

Chill down went well. Ended up at 66F in fairly quick time. Denny's yeast pitched from 1.5L starter (non harvested). Hop presence seems to be there so hopefully the homegrown hops will come through after ferment. Colour looks good |

Fermentation activity has slowed. Temp seems to have dropped to about 62F. Moved to warm hallway for diacytel rest and to finish of the final few gravity points. Added 1oz Cascade pellets from Square One for dry hop |

Seems to have moved the rest of the way on fermentation with the diacytel rest. Fruity aroma from the dry hop and flavour is more noticably bitter with a hint of rye. Starting to clear now too |

Transferred to keg for conditioning and dry hopping. Purged then added hop bag with 1.5oz of whole cone and 2oz of Cascade pellets from Square One. Taste was a little less bitter than previous tasting note |

Nicely carbed now. Pouring slightly hazy still but on its way to clearing. Bright citrusy flavour notes but not much in the aroma. Flavour finished dry and spicy from the rye malt and yeast |
