started mash at 2:38 pm
mash water temp at 164.3 with 7.5 gallons
mash temp with grains 155.9 at 8 minutes in.
added 4 cups water and have lid open. to cool down to 154 18 minutes into it.
3° temp loss with water transfer. from HLT to Mash tun cooler.
after 60 min. temp at 153.6 or .5
90 min temp at 152.8
mash out at 4:10 and now vorloft at 4:30
added more water to mash to bring wort volume to 14.2 gal
1st gal at 1.056
5 gal in 1.053
11 gal 1.041
target volume 14.2 of at 1.034
finished 90 min boil at 7:05 pm
12.2 gallons 1.044
675 ml of Ginger lemon. 3 TBS of fresh ginger root and juice. 3 juiced lemons zest of 1 lemon and rind of 3 lemon. step in 2 cups of water for 10 min
675 ml of orange grapefruit. zest of 1 orange and 1/2 grapefruit. juice of 3 oranges and the rind. 1/2 juiced grapefruit with rind. step in 2 cups of water for 10 min.
add to the wort once in the fermenting bucket.
each goes into a 5.5 gal wort. |
