Adding dry-hops to primary may have been a mistake. I weighted the hop bag with a shot glass and during the racking process the shot glass slid on the bottom and disturbed the yeast bed. Additionally, a significant amount of yeast settled on the hop bag which, when disturbed, released some yeast into the beer. I could have avoided these issues by being more careful during the racking process but it might be worth using a secondary. If I were to use a secondary I would probably leave the beer in the primary for 7-10 days and then dry-hop 10-14 in the secondary. Still learning lessons! So, my beer has some extra yeast in the bottle...hoping it's not too noticeable in the final product. |

This IPA came out great! You do get a little of the yeast in the first sip but after that the hops aroma and bitterness mask it pretty well. |
