Final volume was about 9L only, so I topped it up with about 1.2L of bottled spring water. Specific gravity went from 1.099 to 1.081, although I only took one sample from the jug. |

I accidentally dropped my phone into the brewpot right when the boil started while trying to take a video... but it was revived a couple days later! So this is my first "Phone Beer" (or beer phone?). |

Measured 12.5, 12.6, 12.6 Brix%.
Taste is already delicious! Fruity. Star anise is noticeable but not too overpowering - could be more mellow. Hopefully it can keep fermenting well! |

Main fermenter (aka vase) cracked and was leaking. Managed to siphon the volume to two jugs:
JUG #1: 4.5L
JUG #2: 3.9L
TOTAL: 8.4L |

Made a 1L yeast starter with my homemade stir plate. After fermentation stopped I let the yeast settle and decanted most of the volume, then poured the yeast into both jugs to see if I could kickstart something. After 24h the fermentation activity looked minimal... There were some bubbles at the surface and a visible second layer of sediment...
I'm starting to think this won't ferment much more... |

Moved from 21C fridge to bomb shelter at 29C to help kick start conditioning. I opened one bottle last weekend and it wasn't very carbonated. |
