Great fast brew day. Mash was 150, chill was a little slow,got a full 6 gallons, pretty cloudy wort. Tastes great in gravity sample, hop forward with light sweetness.very much like karma Citra. |

Ferment finished while on vacation - no krausen blow-out which is a miracle. Nice trub layer at the bottom. Will pull a gravity sample and taste tomorrow when I add dry hops. |

Brew Day Notes: FAST BREW!
Started heating strike water and milled grain. Milling ran a bit slow and was complicated by helping Mike D bottle.
Strike temp was pretty close, +1F.
Mashed for 20 minutes then lifted the bag - no gravity sample pulled. Added FWH once the bag was up.
Started heating to boil while bag drained, by ~180F I squeezed the bag to speed it up a bit.
Boil was normal, added IC at the very start and recirculated the whole time. 20 Minute Boil.
Chill was slowed down by hose kinks but still under 100 in under 5 minutes.
As soon as wort hit 70 I moved the pump output to the fermenter and blasted it in.
Pitched a pint of very hoppy slurry from the previous black IPA.
During brew day I helped Mike bottle, kegged the black IPA, cleaned the fermenter, sanitized, and then pitched yeast when finished.
Including wash-up this brew day took 2:30 from the moment I started filling the keg with water to the time I turned off the garage light and went inside. |

Great nose in the gravity sample but the ibus taste pretty high. Still very cloudy, could be yeast bite. |
