20:30 67C steeping start
Put it in 3x3.5L jugs with plenty of space at the top since I don't have a second large jug or 3 blowoff tubes. Stored in bombshelter for fermentation at room temperature! Hopefully it doesn't blow over!
I spilled a bit of wort while pouring it into the three jugs. Lost some water to the hops and grapefruit, but i think this will end up around 8.0% instead of the targeted 7.0%.
I used Mangrove Jack - M29 French Saison, which has a higher average attenuation than the Danstar Belle Saison Yeast. |

Carboy #1: 8.1
Carboy #2: 8.1
Carboy #3: 8.1
Each vessel is 3.5L minus about 0.2L trub at the bottom, so total is ~10L into intermediate vessel. |

26.8 bottles! Will leave to condition in the bomb shelter at 29C
Accidentally let a "surprise drop" into the pot during siphoning... it fell down from the drying rack above. Would have been hanging there for an hour before it decided to fall too! Should be OK... the beer is already 8.4%... and Saisons are supposed to be a little funky anyway. |
