Smooth and mellow. Light breadiness. Grapefruit, lesser passionfruit and mango. Subtle touches of green onion. Bitterness and sweetness are so perfectly balanced that they almost cancel each other out. Tasty. |

Rich breadiness, firm hop bitterness. Little sweetness which seems to boost the hop character. Stern bread and bread crust from the malt side are very robust and delicious, with peach and lychee from the hops. Probably the best tasting beer from the fermenter. In a couple of weeks I'll be grabbing a sixer of MetaModern IPA to do a side-by-side. Can't wait!!!! (yes that's 4 exclamation points) |

Did a side by side. Don't think the MetaModern was very fresh, but still this beer is not cloned. Mine has a more firm Munich malt character and almost sweeter hop flavors. The MetaModern had a thin and a bit watery body, with the Munich in the aftertaste only. Mine was just a shade darker and had better head retention. I actually preferred mine but will reduce the Munich to 10% for a future brew. |
