Notes

Planned on using all pellet hops, but this is all the brew shop had. Also, planned on 30L Crystal, Brew shop only had 40L.

Made starter 24hrs in advance, it sat over night, then shook occasionally throughout the day.

Mash Tun was very close to max capacity with grains and water.

It was 95 Degrees Outside

Mash started around 163 and stayed higher than originally planned around 160-158 with the burner off the whole time.

Got a stuck sparge, maybe due to not heating up the mash over 168 before trying to drain. Had to blow into a tube to clear it out. This made Vorlaufing very hard.

Boil Gravity ~1.065

Collected nearly 7 gallons to boil. Finished boil with about 5.5 gallons.

Icebath was VERY effective. Used 80lbs of ice (it sat in the 95degree weather for 5hrs before using it). Chilled to 75degrees within 45mins.

OG 1.078

Accedently didn't pitch all the yeast, there was still a good inch of thick yeast in the bottom on the starter that didnt make it's way into the fermenter.

Very aggressive fermentation 12hrs in. Lasted about 2 days. By day 5 it has greatly reduced.

Day 7 & 8 FG 1.020

Dry Hops added on Day 7

Cold Crash Day 10

Bottling on day 11

Used 5oz "Priming Sugar" which stated "use 5oz for 2.75co"

Only ended up collecting 3.75 gallons

(Note: needed to make sure we bottled in time to go to NY, rushed a bit)
