Grain amount: 6,1 kg of Maris Otter. Otherwise according to recipe. 15 minutes extended boil after first two hop additions to get a more concentrated wort. Using hop bags for the last four hop additions. |

Bitter and fruity. Lots of trub. Has been fermenting in the shed for 6 days, 16-19 degrees C. Have placed the fermenter in the shoe room, 21 degrees. Hopefully, the FG will be a little lower. |

Turned out a regular American IPA at just over 7% ABV. The low OG can probably be attributed to a low mashing temperature (in the low 60s). I didn't have DME or dextrose to increase it with either. It did ferment nicely, and the taste is super bitter and hoppy, with a rich hop aroma as well. Slight hazey appearance (chill haze?), we'll see it develops. |

Revised recipe: Added DME instead of 2 kg Maris Otter. Added turbinado. Halved amount of wheat malt. Added crystal malt. Removed caramel wheat. |
