Se llenó el HLT con 40 galones de agua, se echó poco más de media oz de ácido fosfórico, el pH bajó a 5.5. Para el mash se echó media oz de ácido fosfórico y el pH bajó hasta 5.7, se le añadió un poco más y el pH llegó a 5.5.
