Well, first all grain done. Not too bad, didn't take too long, 0900 start, 1320 fermentor in the cupboard. 4.5 hours.
Didn't take an initial conversion measurement; idiot. Measured after sparge; 1.044. Measured pre-boil; 1.044. Measured post-boil; 1.052??!
Only had 16L in the fermentor in the end, and the boiler was very nearly full. Had a boil-over too, this might account for some of the lacking wort, but not that much surely? Going to need to fill the boiler up properly next time and sit on it to make sure no boilover. |

Used third generation of Neales Brewing yeast, poured half the jar away, mixed it up real good and chucked it in. We will see if it works. |

Kept three packages of yeast to re-use; now on 4th generation. Doesn't look like its worked particularly well after a day. |

Tastes good! Might be lacking in body slightly, but it goes down very well. Complexity from the range of malts, a hint of sweetness that is nicely balanced by the slightly bitter piney hops.
Good carbonation level. Nice and fizzy, but lacking any head of note.
Not exactly clear, but that's not particularly important as it is still a nice golden colour. Think hazy honeydew. |
