Gravity reading after mash was low (1.055). Planned on boiling extra time to bump up OG. Otherwise, went well. Cooler maintained mash temp very well. |

Pre-boil gravity was low (1.055). Should have been around 1.064. Will boil extra to bump up OG. |

Boiled 90 minutes instead of 60. OG ended up right at 1.070. Bumped up FO hop addition to 50g. |

Fermentor volume was a little high, especially after adding starter. Next time, should calculate volume of sparge water more accurately to drain the cooler and get exact amount of wort for boiling. Should also start making the yeast starter further in advance so that I can cold crash and decant. |

Tried a bottle one week after bottling - was not ready. Tasted very "green" and was nearly flat. Waited almost another week and tried another. Still pretty green and not very carbonated. Agitated each bottle a bit (to re-suspend the yeast) and moved them to the living room (where the temperature is a couple degrees warmer). Tried a bottle a few days later - already much more carbonated and starting to taste really good (about 2.5 weeks after bottling). |
