This is a very sweet Sour even with the water addition,it also has a syrup taste due to the grad.sugar (change the sugar)

The original Recipe is from the 20's and reads like this

2lbs Dried Apricots (Used Dried turkish)
1/2 C. Cornmeal (Used 16 oz,2c.)
5lbs Granulated Sugar
1 1/2 gal water (used 4gal)
2 Yeast Cakes (See Above, Try the

                    yeast cakes for fun)<br />

1tsp Ginger (Used 2 Tbls Ginger)

Mix well and let stand for ten days without stirring.
Strain through cheese cloth twice.
Take 1/2c. sugar and burn it, add it to give color.
Let stand a day and strain, then bottle.
