Notes

A dry Irish stout with a simple grain bill, using dark roasted malted rice for color, with a touch of roast from the buckwheat and some toastiness from 18L biscuit rice. The firm hop bitterness nods to earlier versions of Guinness, and the gravity lines up with mid-20th-century Extra Stout, at a time when gravity was moving from the high to low 40s.

In 1965, the Lion's Gate Bridge (originally built with money from the Guinness family) added signal lights to the three lanes. Canada adopted the red and white maple leaf flag, the Canadian Pension Plan was introduced, and (soon after) the Medical Care Act brought free universal health care.
