Notes

Adaptation of Sierra Nevada's Torpedo public recipe

Water adjusted to Burton on Trent
6.12 grams gypsum
1.91 grams NaCl
1.01 grams Epsom salt

Note longer mashing time and longer boil times, spare with 3 liters of water. Post sparge gravity is 1.059.

Efficieny was low, as temps creeped up to 69.5 in mashing, so less conversion of simple sugars....anyway, hot day and all. Need to adjust mash to a little lower in the future. I added 0.5 kg dextrose after the boil to get the gravity back where it should be...or at least closer to where it should be.

In glycol fermenter number 1. Pitched 2 packs of yeast at 64 degrees.

Should go back to Mattmuhle system and set grind to 1.3 mm spacing. I think the brew store crushed grain is a little too course.

Day 6 gravity is 1.018, still some krausen
